This site, now in its 27th season, is a labour of love and fun from one of Ottawa's most avid time trialists and number crunchers. It adheres to and is permitted by the laws of Canada, promotes the objectives of every bicycle club whose results are shown, and is donated free of charge by myself for your enjoyment and usage. If you would like results from series you ride in to be shown here, give me (celia.mcinnis@gmail.com) a shout!
NOTE that this site had to be quickly moved to a new server with a new version of Perl. Unfortunately the way of interacting with the web form has changed, so I'll have to do some reprogramming to get the buttons and search boxes working. Meanwhile the links work fine and you can always add query specifications into the URL! :-)

Well that was an interesting race! Twenty-two women arrived on the start line under good conditions - warm, low air pressure, and a west wind to help on the out-leg. Once in the line up at the start, though, the rain started falling, leading to some laughter at the suggestion that Celia put the Xmas lights, which she had just removed for the race, back on her bike. While out on the course, the winds were sufficiently strong and gusty that many reported being blown sideways into the traffic. Yes, those Xmas lights, or at least the heavy battery, might actually have given more stability out there! The rain became torrential during the race, so much so that many of us couldn't even see turn marshal Lynda Damen, but once the last rider was back, the skies cleared and the wind dropped. I guess we were being tested - or teased! Four riders actually improved upon their previous 2010 CFCTT best. The most improved, by more than 11%, was Stephanie Sothcott. Stephanie indicated that she really enjoyed the ride and was used to riding in the rain (she's from England!), which led Jim to quip that we could blame Stephanie for the conditions. Actually, we all had a good time, figuratively if not literally - Lots of fun!

Note the "EvtFactor" value given in the line above the weather. The Event Factor measures how well people ride on a particular night relative to their best for that series and distance. You can click on the link to get a description. Tonight ranked about 10% lower than our previous 2010 CFCTT events.
